Socio-economic impact of government infrastructural development projects in Ayodhya

Students enrolled in the M.A. Development programme at Azim Premji University (APU), Bangalore, undertake a field project consisting of research, action-project or intervention in areas such as rural livelihoods, disability rights, agriculture and land rights, citizenship and identity, gender and sexuality. The project entails 30 weeks of research, fieldwork and analysis at the end of which the students present their findings and observations through posters and presentations.
This poster by Akanksha Baranwal examines the impact of governmental infrastructural development projects on the socio-economic conditions of people in Ayodhya since 2019. It employs a mixed methodology consisting of semi-structured individual interviews with 12 categories of respondents and focused group discussions with lawyers and media personnel. The poster covers issues like displacement, access to health services and school enrolment.
